The Big Leeds Conversation
Your opportunity to help co-create our core values and the behaviours that will define how we will work together over the next ten years.
It’s time to check and challenge our new draft values framework, and feedback on what you feel is strong, wrong or missing.
Together, we will establish new, shared values that will guide our behaviours and inspire our university community into the future.
By co-creating and upholding shared values in everything we do, we can shape our next decade to realise our full potential, and build a positive, fairer future for all at Leeds and beyond.
The second phase of the Big Leeds Conversation is now closed
What's happened so far
In July, over 3,000 staff, students and postgraduate researchers took part in The Big Leeds Conversation – the largest online discussion of its type at Leeds.Together, our community shared over 900 ideas, 3,000 comments and nearly 50,000 votes on the ideas you liked or disliked.
The ideas, comments and votes from our discussion have been analysed by our independent partners, Clever Together, to help build a draft framework of values and behaviours for everyone to check and challenge.
In this final phase, we’d like you to feedback on what you feel is strong, wrong or missing from our draft values. From there, we’ll be able to refine our new values, and establish an agreed framework that will guide everyone in how we will work together over the next 10 years.
With new and clear shared values, we can re-imagine:
- our employee offer – from how we hire to how we inspire – to help create a collaborative and supportive place to work;
- our student experience and how we offer education; and
- who we collaborate with and how we deliver world-class research.
How it works
Our independent partners, Clever Together, will email you a unique link to the survey when the final phase of The Big Leeds Conversation is open.
The survey will present you with our newly created draft framework, with the opportunity to feedback on our five draft values – including the 15 behaviours that underpin them.
The online survey takes approximately 10 minutes to complete and is your final opportunity to help refine the values that our community has co-created.
The final phase of The Big Leeds Conversation is:
- open to all Leeds staff, students and postgraduate researchers around the world;
- anonymous – your name is not attached to anything you share and your comments are not visible to others; and
- accessible from wherever you may be – on any computer, tablet or smartphone
What happens next
After this ‘check and challenge’ phase is complete, we will assess the results. In the new year, we’ll share our new values across our wider community, where they will be embedded and reflected in University policies, and underpin our community and culture.
